Viral Disney Get Hacked, Data Breach Have Leaked 1.1 TB Includes Unannounced Projects

"Disney became our target because of the way they handle artist contracts, their approach to AI, and their blatant disregard for consumers," the email continued.

"We released the data because we knew that suing would be pointless. If we said, 'Hello Disney, we have all your slack data,' they would immediately lock themselves up and try to get rid of us. In a duel, you better shoot first."

The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the story, has seen a number of files allegedly obtained and leaked by Nullbulge, which include "conversations about managing Disney's corporate website, software development, assessing candidates for jobs, programs for new leaders within ESPN, and photos of employees' dogs, with data traced back at least to 2019."

"Disney is investigating this matter," said a Disney spokesperson.

You can't blame anyone at Disney - with a business that includes its film and television studios, such as Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm, as well as streaming services Disney+ and Hulu, cable networks like ESPN, theme parks and more - for some sort of vague PTSD.

A decade ago, Sony Pictures fell victim to a devastating hack. It's still considered the most significant corporate data breach in US history, and it wasn't just employee dog pictures that were at stake.

Years of emails, ranging from the innocuous to the gossipy to the downright unpleasant, were leaked, wreaking havoc on show business.

In response to this, Academy Award-winning producer Amy Pascal resigned as co-CEO of the studio as a result. Names like Angelina Jolie, Rooney Mara, and President Barack Obama were discussed in private communications published on Wikileaks.

The studio was also helpless, unable to rely on any technology for days (accounting had to process payroll manually) after the incident. That's all we can say this time, hope it helps!
