Players can possibly expect content revolving around Fontaine or even new areas of the region in future updates. However, 4.8 will bring a close to the Fontaine arc and make its way for the 5.0 update to usher in a fresh and new storyline involving the region ruled by the Pyro Archon.
The 4.8 update is set to go live on July 17, 2024. If we consider HoYoverse's release patterns for new versions, Version 5.0 is expected to be released on August 28, 2024 as each update lasts for 42 days.
